The business has recently changed owners and it looks like they don't like donuts. These are just ok, but nothing special. The place is super fancy cool looking, but the product does not match the storefront expectation. Bring it back up to par and you will be heroes.

Customer service needs some work here. Donuts were okay but we apparently got there too late for the maple bacon. Might have been a different experience earlier in the morning.

Best pastry shop in Steamboat. Boston Cremes my favorite... Cool location.

Let's face it, it's the only donut shop in Steamboat... I understand the logistics of baking, I really do, if your idea of a 'great' donut is something baked the night before, then this is your place. The frosted donuts are cold (at 7am) and nothing special. The cake donuts were the best of all. Great service I'll try again

Milk Run has some pretty creative donuts. The daughter liked the Reese's donut (Chocolate and peanut butter). I tried the maple bacon donut. Bacon goes very well with maple glaze. I prefer my donuts light, like Krispy Kreme. The donuts here were on the heavy side. The donuts would have been perfect if it was lighter. These guys are a a donut shop only. Don't think of getting a muffin, bagel, or a ham and cheese croissant here. I asked for a muffin. They looked at me funny. I like their creative flavors. Service is okay. I would come back if I visited Steamboat Springs again!

How can you mess up donuts! Terrible service is the only way and they managed that today. Maybe it's better other times but we won't be back to check it out. We ordered an iced coffee, no ice. The machine wasn't working all morning and couldn't walk across the street to get some. Even then their response wasn't that they were sorry, they said in would just said we have to deal with hot. Then they were almost out of donuts and in a really snide way told my kids they would have to choose from what is left. Not a single smile or thank you. We seemed to have ruined their day by walking in to buy something. The family behind us smartly left, we won't be back.

Tasty donuts, wide selection! Coffe, Tea, Espresso. Open at 5:30 am; closes at noon. Closed Tuesday. Free wifi, comfortable seating.

After reading the previous reviews I made sure I arrived early, @ 7am. There was no wait and there were plenty of donuts. The service was great. The snickers donuts were good but we liked the Reese's and Maple Bacon better. Will definitely go back!

As I write this review, I'm conflicted. Milk Run's doughnuts are great (although I have yet to try the famed maple bacon variety). What I struggle with isn't the product but the employees. My family and I recently ,over to town and have visited the shop 3 times. At each visit, at best we received blank looks and at worst snarky replies. Case in point, on a recent visit I asked the employee helping me about the maple bacon doughnuts. On the chalkboard menu, it simply says "bacon" and I'd hoped for a bit more description. The employee looked at me and said flatly, "They're doughnuts with bacon on them..." Only after I gave her an unamused glare did she offer up any additional commentary. I'm betting the shop could do a ton more business with a bit better customer service. I always leave feeling like I'm a bother.

Yes, these delicious tasty treats will melt in your mouth. The yeast donuts are big and airy and the cake donuts are the perfect texture. The variety is what makes Milk Run so much fun. They have Green Tea Icing, Reeses, Snickers, Lucky Charms, Oreo donuts, just to name a few. Of course there are the usual like glazed, chocolate cake, maple (with bacon!!), and chocolate icing (with sprinkles available everywhere). Wash them down with a big glass of chocolate milk. Avoid the coffee. Specialty drinks like lattes are not good here, and neither is a plain old cup of joe. There is room for improvement. As for the donuts, they're perfect. The locals are onto this place and are lined up each morning, so be prepared to wait a minute or two. But it's worth it. You'll need the time anyway, to figure out which yummy creation you'll be choosing to start your day!

I snuck in here one day just after they had closed (Watch the hours! They close pretty early!) The friendly gal behind the counter had already boxed up the day's few leftovers, but she allowed me to buy them AND she made me a coffee.

Every time I have tried to go to the Milk Run it has been closed. Finally I checked the hours and learned they were open 5:30 am till noon. I went this morning at about 6:50am, and found a sign on the door saying they would be opening late that day. How do you open late if you close at noon? Maybe they stayed open past noon today....All I know is I will be going elsewhere for donuts....oh well. Hard to give one star when I haven't ever been in the place.

I wasn't terribly impressed the 1st time I tried Milk Run, but I thought every donut shop deserves a 2nd try, and a 3rd..... 1st- They've amended the hours and now close at noon, but they're sticking to the ridiculous idea that no one wants donuts on Tuesdays. So, I finally got to try the fabled bacon maple donut and it totally lived up to expectations. The maple glaze was perfect; sugary and light an actual glaze and not frosting. Meanwhile the bacon was super crunchy and salty; a perfect counter point to the glaze. Also, all the donuts this time were fully cooked, light and fluffy. So, I bumped them up a star. I think 3 stars is about as many as a donut shoppe deserves. Though, if they do something that blows my mind, I'll reconsider.

Awesome donuts...worth getting up early for the best selection,...esp the Boston Cream filled donuts!

I don't get in here as often as I'd like. Very interesting toppings including maple bacon, green tea, cookies and cream, and snickers. Of course they only have City Market and Safeway as their competition, but Milk Run holds its own.

I found it lacking in taste, customer service and pride in their products. That being said I will give Milk Run another chance hoping for the best but not going hungry.

Great donuts! The owners serve you and are always friendly and helpful! Reminder they close at noon or when they sell out and are closed on Tuesday's! If you want a fresh, homemade doughnut this is the place to go!

Considering they are the only place in town for fresh doughnuts, this is a good place to frequent if you are in town. I'm a yeast doughnut eater, and I have had the pleasure of fresh Krispy Kremes, which is a hard to beat experience. These yeast doughnuts are more dense (which is standard) and they hold up well if you are a coffee dipper. They are also great heated up in the microwave days later (which Krispy Kremes never were). I have not tried the cake doughnuts. We usually get a dozen glazed and a specialty doughnut on the side. They have a nice variety of fancy treatments: Snickers, Oreo, maple, chocolate, sprinkles, maple and bacon etc. Be prepared to wait in line, and skip the coffee.
